1805 Draped Bust Quarter (25c)

PCGS XF40 CAC

The 1805 Draped Bust quarter is a significant early American rarity from the dawn of U.S. coinage. With a relativelt small mintage of just over 120k pieces, these coins were struck during a time when the young Philadelphia Mint struggled with equipment limitations and silver shortages, making survivors in any grade highly desirable.

This CAC-approved XF40 example displays exceptional quality for a coin that saw moderate circulation. The surfaces retain impressive detail, particularly in Liberty's hair curls and the eagle's breast feathers. A pleasing silver-gray patina has developed evenly across both sides, giving the coin outstanding eye appeal. The fields show minimal marks for the grade, and the overall appearance suggests this coin was handled with care during its time in commerce. A truly exceptional example of this scarce early quarter.
