1867 Two Cent (2c)

NGC MS64 RB CAC

The 1867 Two-Cent piece represents the twilight years of this short-lived denomination, which was produced from 1864 to 1873. By 1867, the post-Civil War economy had stabilized enough that these coins saw decreased demand, resulting in a relatively modest mintage of 2,938,750 pieces.

This MS64 RB example, endorsed by CAC and in an original gold-embossed NGC Fatty holder, displays rich original color with plenty of mint red still present. The surfaces are remarkably clean for the grade, with minimal contact marks and strong, clear design elements throughout. The eye appeal is outstanding, with attractive toning that transitions smoothly from red to brown, creating a harmonious overall appearance. The fields retain their original mint luster, which dances brilliantly when the coin is rotated.
