The 1878-CC Morgan Dollar represents the first year of Carson City production for this iconic series. The Carson City Mint, despite its relatively short operational period, produced some of the most sought-after Morgan Dollars. The 1878-CC had a mintage of 2.2 million pieces, making it one of the more available Carson City dates in high grades.
This MS64 CAC example is a stunning representative of early Carson City coinage. The surfaces showcase brilliant, frosty luster with clean fields and minimal bag marks for the grade. The strike is bold and complete, particularly evident in the eagle's breast feathers and wing details. The eye appeal is exceptional, with pristine, untoned surfaces that radiate with cartwheel luster.
