1878 Morgan Dollar ($1) 7TF Reverse of 1878 OGH
PCGS
MS62 DMPL
CAC
This first-year-of-issue Morgan dollar features the 7 tail feathers reverse, which was modified midway through production after the initial 8 tail feathers design was revised. The "REV 1878" designation indicates this coin bears the third reverse hub of 1878, used in the latter part of the year.
This CAC-approved MS62DMPL OGH example is a standout specimen with impressively reflective fields. While showing some light contact marks consistent with the MS62 grade, the pristine mirrors remain intact. The strike is bold and well-defined, with sharp detail throughout Liberty's hair and the eagle's feathers. The untoned silver surfaces allow the coin's natural brilliance to shine through undiminished.
