1883-CC Morgan Dollar ($1) OGH

The 1883-CC Morgan dollar represents Wild West numismatic history at its finest. Struck at the legendary Carson City Mint, these silver dollars were produced during the height of Nevada's silver mining boom. Unlike many other Carson City Morgans, the 1883-CC had a substantial mintage of 1,204,000 pieces, making it one of the more accessible CC-mint dollars today—though still far scarcer than its Philadelphia and New Orleans counterparts.
This CAC-approved MS64 example housed in a classic PCGS Old Green Holder displays impressive eye appeal with blazing cartwheel luster that radiates across the surfaces. The strike is exceptionally bold, with sharp definition on Liberty's hair details and the eagle's breast feathers. The surfaces are remarkably clean for the grade, showing minimal bagmarks typical of Morgan dollars that traveled from the mint to Treasury vaults. The pristine, frosty white surfaces suggest this coin was likely sourced directly from a Treasury release bag and has been carefully preserved since. A stellar representative of this popular Carson City issue.
