1890-CC Liberty Gold Double Eagle ($20)

CAC
The 1890-CC Liberty Head double eagle is a sought-after issue, minted during the height of the Carson City Mint's operations, with a modest mintage of just 91,209 pieces. Given the frontier conditions and the heavy circulation of such gold pieces, many were used extensively, making high-grade survivors particularly notable.
This XF45 example, certified by CACG, displays honest circulation wear while retaining a solid strike and gorgeous eye appeal. The coin's surfaces are wonderfully original, showing even wear across the high points with deeper details in the protected areas. The overall eye appeal is enhanced by a nice, consistent patina. Scattered contact marks are present but entirely in line with the grade and do not detract from the coin’s appeal.
