1893 Morgan Dollar ($1)

PCGS AU53 CAC

The 1893 Morgan Dollar from the Philadelphia Mint is a particularly sought-after coin due to its low mintage of just 389,000 pieces. The economic downturn of the early 1890s significantly reduced the production of silver dollars, making this date one of the scarcest and most desirable in the series.

This CAC-approved AU53 example shows the ideal traits of a lightly circulated Morgan. The coin displays a pleasing pewter-gray patina with hints of original luster still visible in the protected areas. The high points show honest wear consistent with the grade, while the fields remain relatively clean with minimal marks or abrasions. The reverse eagle retains excellent feather definition, and the overall eye appeal is superior for the assigned grade. A handsome representative of this popular 19th-century silver dollar.
