1896 Barber Half Dollar (50c)

PCGS MS64

The 1896 Barber Half Dollar is an early date in the series, which ran from 1892 to 1915. The Barber design, created by Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber, is beloved for its classic and elegant appearance. While the Philadelphia mint produced a substantial number of Barber halves in 1896, high-quality uncirculated examples are always in demand among discerning collectors.

This MS64 coin, certified by PCGS and bearing the D.L. Hansen Barber Collection Pedigree, showcases impressive eye appeal. The coin features bright, full luster which radiates from its surfaces. The strike is notably sharp, with crisp detail visible in both the obverse and reverse designs. A scattering of minor contact marks, consistent with the grade, does little to detract from the overall appeal of this well-preserved example.
