1900 Lafayette Commemorative Dollar ($1)
PCGS

The 1900 Lafayette Dollar is a historic gem, representing the first U.S. coin to portray a foreign national. Struck to commemorate the longstanding alliance between the United States and France, this coin celebrated the contributions of General Lafayette during the American Revolutionary War. Crafted as a fundraiser for his statue in Paris, its mintage was limited to 50,026, elevating its status among classic numismatic pieces.
This absolutely beyond-stunning original gem, graded MS65 by PCGS and graced with a CAC sticker, came back from CAC with a bonus extra green sticker from John Albanese himself ("WOW!"), which is a first for us, ever.
The coin exhibits a rich, satiny luster with beautifully struck details. Both obverse and reverse display a consistent original patina. The overall preservation is pristine, with minimal contact marks, making it a standout addition to any collection of U.S. commemoratives.
