1915-S Panama-Pacific Commem Gold Dollar ($1)

CAC
The 1915-S Panama-Pacific Exposition gold dollar was struck to commemorate the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, celebrating both the opening of the Panama Canal and San Francisco's recovery from the 1906 earthquake. The San Francisco Mint produced just 15,000 pieces, with many being sold at the fair itself.
This MS64 CAC example showcases beyond exceptional eye appeal with rich, satiny luster that radiates across both sides. The surfaces are remarkably clean for the grade, displaying minimal marks and an exceptional strike. The original mint frost remains undisturbed, giving the coin a wonderful golden glow that's particularly evident on the obverse. A premium quality example of this popular commemorative issue. Until we can all afford the $50 coins, this will make due nicely ;)
