1915-S Panama-Pacific Commem Half Dollar (50c)
PCGS MS63
The 1915-S Panama-Pacific Exposition commemorative half dollar is a fascinating piece of American numismatic history. Struck to commemorate the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, these coins helped celebrate both the opening of the Panama Canal and San Francisco's recovery from the 1906 earthquake. The San Francisco Mint produced just 27,134 pieces.
This MS63 example certified by PCGS boasts outstanding eye appeal for the grade. The surfaces show bright, satiny luster throughout, with minimal marks that are well-distributed and not distracting. The strike is sharp and clear, particularly on the sunburst rays and the eagle's feathers on the reverse.
