1918/7-D Buffalo Nickel (5c)

PCGS VF30 CAC

The 1918/7-D Buffalo Nickel represents one of the most significant overdate varieties in American numismatics. During production, a 1917 die was repunched with a 1918 date, creating a visible "7" underneath the "8." This Denver Mint rarity has a significantly lower survival rate than its Philadelphia counterpart, making it a prized key date for serious Buffalo Nickel enthusiasts.

This CAC-approved VF30 example shows honest wear consistent with its grade, yet retains impressive detail throughout. The overdate feature remains clearly visible under magnification, and the surfaces display an attractive medium-gray patina free of problematic marks or issues. The reverse shows strong horn detail and clear definition on the buffalo's shoulder and head. The eye appeal is exceptional for the grade, with smooth, problem-free surfaces that indicate this coin circulated naturally without harsh cleaning or environmental damage.
