1925 Buffalo Nickel (5c)
PCGS
MS66
CAC
The 1925 Buffalo Nickel had a substantial mintage, but finding superb gem examples with full strike and pristine surfaces remains challenging. The Philadelphia mint produced over 35 million nickels this year, but few survive in this elite grade.
This MS66 CAC example is a knockout, with rich satin luster and exceptionally clean surfaces. Both the obverse and reverse show strong strikes, particularly notable in the buffalo's head and shoulder detail. The original skin has a lovely light golden tone that enhances the eye appeal. For type set purposes, this coin represents an ideal candidate - high grade but without the premium commanded by the scarcer dates.
