The 1929-S Standing Liberty Quarter is a notable issue from the final years of the series, produced just before the Great Depression would dramatically impact coin production. While not the rarest date in the series, finding gem examples has become increasingly difficult as many were either placed into circulation or improperly stored over decades.
This spectacular "MS65" example certified by PCGS and endorsed with a gold CAC sticker represents exceptional quality for the issue. The coin displays gorgeous original surfaces with rich, champagne-gold toning on the obverse that transitions to vibrant rainbow hues on the reverse. The strike is bold and complete, with sharp definition throughout Liberty's gown and the eagle's feathers (and, most importantly, in Liberty's head.) Lustrous fields flash brilliantly when rotated under light, and the surfaces are remarkably clean for the grade with minimal marks. The eye appeal is extraordinary, particularly with the dramatic contrast between the mostly untoned obverse and the colorfully toned reverse.
