1939 Mercury Dime (10c)
NGC
PR67
CAC
1939 marked a pivotal year for Mercury dimes, as the U.S. Mint produced a relatively small number of proof coins - just 9,321 pieces. These were struck specifically for collectors during the Great Depression era, when proof coin collecting was still gaining popularity.
This superb PF67 CAC example displays pristine surfaces with deep, watery fields that contrast beautifully against the frosted devices. The mirrors are exceptionally clean and free of hairlines, while the strike is razor-sharp throughout. The eye appeal is outstanding, with brilliant surfaces that flash dramatically when rotated under light. A top-tier example of this late-1930s proof issue.
