The 1945-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar represents the penultimate year of this beloved series, struck during the final months of World War II. The Denver Mint produced these coins in substantial numbers, making them readily available today in most grades....
....but not in PCGS Doily holders. These holders (named after the pattern on the label) were produced for only a very short time and are collectible in their own right.
This MS64 example exhibits strong cartwheel luster that dances across its silver-white surfaces. The strike is bold and complete, with minimal marks for the grade. A hint of light peripheral toning adds a subtle accent to the coin's overall eye appeal. The surfaces remain remarkably fresh and original.
