1865 Original $1 National - Providence, RI (Charter 565)

This Original Series $1 National Bank Note from The Second National Bank of Providence, Fr. 380a, dates from 1865. Original Series Nationals from Rhode Island are notably scarce, with this example being one of the few survivors from this early Providence bank.

Graded Very Fine 25 by PMG, this note shows moderate circulation while maintaining strong eye appeal. The paper remains sturdy with expected folds and light wear consistent with the grade. The black printing remains sharp and clear, complemented by a vivid red charter number and Treasury seal. The reverse displays a dramatic central vignette in crisp detail, with the green printing remaining bold and well-defined throughout.
