1935A $1 R + S Exper. Silver Cert Pair
VF
These 1935A $1 Silver Certificates showcase two interesting experimental variants from the standard series. The "R" and "S" varieties were part of a limited test run by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to evaluate different paper compositions and printing methods (R for "Regular" and S for "Special"). Both types of notes were released into circulation and later checked. These experimental notes are significantly scarcer than their standard counterparts and it's always fun to find them in pairs.
Both notes display moderate circulation with well-defined folds and even wear patterns typical of VF grade notes. The blue Treasury seals and serial numbers remain bold and clear against the white paper background. The margins are even and the paper retains good body despite the circulation. The reverse shows the standard green printing with good detail retention in the design elements.
